"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and the prevention of disease."

 Freedom from Pain

Freedom. Something we tend to take for granted, especially here in America. On the heels of Memorial Day, the anniversary of D-Day, and Flag Day in recent months, as well as Independence Day this month, we have numerous reminders at this time of the year of just how fortunate we are to be living in a free country. And just as a price had to be paid and great diligence exerted to gain victory over tyrannical governments and cruel dictators, so also must a consistent effort be put forth to be free of pain and dysfunction: present-day enemies to our bodies.

It’s seldom easy to do the right thing, and sometimes our efforts at doing good can be met with resistance. There are a number of forces at work against us: convenience, accidents and injuries, stress, inactivity, a poor diet, toxins in our environment, etc. It’s a challenge to continue to push forward, especially if you don’t see the results of your labors. But just as a country’s military branches need to work together, following a plan of action using various tactics on all fronts, we too need to “stay the course” until victory is secured. Sometimes we’re locked in a stalemate; sometimes we lose a battle here and there; sometimes it’s a landslide in our favor.

Even though there can be no guarantees of success, a strategic, consistent battle plan is necessary if we’re going to even have a chance. People are living longer these days – many will see the century mark of 100 years. How do we position ourselves now to live a healthier life and win the “war” that’s been declared on our health?

1.) REGULAR CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS
Misalignments of the spine can be a subtle enemy because they don’t always
result in pain. Spinal manipulation has been proven to be effective for natural
pain relief. Even when you’re not in pain, keep your spine in line.
2.) PROPER BODY BIOMECHANICS
It’s the every day bends, lifts, twists, turns and changes in position that can
make a difference between our back “going out”, or staying out of pain.
3.) PROPER POSTURES
Sitting and lying with proper support and standing properly are crucial daily
activities to help keep you free from pain.
4.) PROPER DIET
Some foods can promote inflammation. What you eat can affect how you feel.
5.) EXERCISE
Inactivity can be harmful because when muscles get weak, the spine is more
likely to become misaligned causing pain.

Following the steps above can be helpful in your quest for
freedom from pain. May you have the victory!
