"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and the prevention of disease."

There’s a lot of talk about “women’s health” issues these days, but what about us guys? This month we’ll focus on issues pertinent to men’s health. Would you like greater vitality, either physically to compete in sports or to have better stamina sexually? Are you dealing with the negative effects of stress such as headaches or sleeplessness? Does that gut seem to be expanding (and you don’t seem to be consuming any more calories than you used to)? Are you tired of that nagging low back pain? Perhaps we can help! _________________________________________________ Vitality
Wouldn’t it be great to shave a few strokes off your golf score or add a few points to your bowling average? By keeping your spine functioning smoothly (free of subluxations by keeping the vertebrae from locking up when you twist, bend, or rotate) you are able to move more freely, thus allowing you to better play your game. By keeping your hips and pelvis free (unlocked), this takes stress off your hamstring muscles, and the potential for pulling a muscle is much less. If you’re huffing and puffing trying to get to first base, maybe it’s the foods you’re eating that are putting a stress on your system. Or maybe you are out of shape and can’t exercise your joints enough to keep them flexible because you’re in too much pain, and are afraid of injuring yourself. Gentle adjustments may be just the ticket (to get you on your feet again). _________________________________________________ Gut Are you going up a notch or two on that belt? It may very well be that you are not burning off more calories than you’re taking in, but it could also indicate a Candida (yeast) issue. Yeast thrives on sugars from foods, pop, and alcohol. As a result, abdominal distension (a protruding gut) is a common sign. Another more serious threat is that you are developing diabetes. Midline obesity is one of the common signs associated with insulin resistance. If you experience a lot of gas, chances are that the bugs in your digestive tract need assistance. We can help by determining what’s causing the problem.
Low Back Pain Low back pain is the most common malady in men. Typically one-time or repetitive lifting injuries will start the process and be promulgated by poor postures, muscle imbalances, and misaligned vertebrae which continue to grind down the weakened, vulnerable joints. Spinal manipulation has been proven to be an effective means of helping most back pain syndromes. By keeping your spine in line (via adjustments), getting educated on proper postures/ lifting techniques, and enabling you to exercise effectively, we can help you on your journey toward maximum optimum performance. ____________________________________________________ Stress
We all have it, but the question is, “How are we dealing with it?” Stress causes headaches, sleeplessness, irritability, even sexual dysfunction (inability to get/ maintain an erection). Acupuncture can relieve stress by removing blocked energy and enabling your body to produce “feel good” chemicals. Instead of reaching for an alcoholic drink or sleeping pill, Phosphatidyl Serine, Valerian Root, or St. John’s Wort can calm you down naturally.
Aerobic exercise three times per week of at least 30 minutes per day is an excellent stress reliever. Now that the weather is nicer, even brisk walking can increase your heart rate and sustain it to provide a great benefit. »
